I have studied many styles of dance from classical to folk. But what really stands out about Island Groove™ is the emphasis on group participation. Chinyere really knows how to get everyone to put their 100% into the class. People begin to open up and move in ways they never dream of and it is a beautiful thing to be a part of. We love the class and we love her. She takes us to the heart of the Carnaval spirit every time, and there is really nothing like it. This is by far the best work out in the Los Angeles area. If you want a flavor of the islands and that Carnaval spirit, Island Groove™ is it!

Island Groove™ is a great workout that takes you all over the Caribbean Islands with it's intoxicating music. It allows you to release and be free while using muscles you never thought would be possible to move. This is very challenging yet loads of fun!

Island Groove™, was a paradise to me, the music, the energy, the friendly environment was just great. I enjoyed it for about 4 years in the Sherman Oaks area, and I really miss it now. Chinyere, is an energetic, friendly lady who can really gets the best of anybody in her class. I really enjoyed the Meringues, Cumbias and sometimes the Salsa, that was the best.
I really hope to have the chance to have the Island Grove classes nearby I would take it again!!.

There is really no way to describe this class, well except for:

• energizing
• uninhibiting
• exhilarating
• uplifting
• stress reducing
• free spirited
• and just FUN FUN FUN!

but other than that, there really isn't a way to describe it. Just by the simple way that the class is conducted, with no requirements, no stress on technique and the energy radiating from the instructor, the Carnival Queen herself, Chinyere is enough to get you hooked. No such thing as the RIGHT way, just the SPIRIT FREE CARNIVAL WAY!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm now a devout Island Groover! I can't rave enough about this class. It suits anyone that just has the simple drive to dance, and I am sure it will bring out the drive in a few of those that don't have it. It's just that intoxicating!
